I used canon 50 mm F 1.8 mark II lens with 25 mm extension tube to focus closer . camera settings 1/200, F 6.3 , ISO 400  , manual focus . the bee is constantly moving and hence it’s extremely difficult to get a sharp picture with such a low depth of field. my best in about 50 attempts.

Rama. Moreover you will get the macro lens in grey market (burdubai) with reasonable price…

Beautiful photo! Is it strait out of the camera or you cropped it?

Oksana,

Thanks. i did crop a little bit to avoid distractions but not a lot. may be 10% . The kenko extension tube gave me  the reach and the magnification.

Muneer,

good luck with the nifty-fifty. The f1.8 canon  prime lens is extremely sharp, but the bokeh is not very pleasant to look at since it has only 4-5 blades . f 1.4 lens   costs 3 times as much but is supposed to be very good.   I note your comments about macro lens but you will need a ring flash, if you shoot at f48 or 64 to increase your depth of field .
