<p>good luck with the nifty-fifty. The f1.8 canon  prime lens is extremely sharp, but the bokeh is not very pleasant to look at since it has only 4-5 blades . f 1.4 lens   costs 3 times as much but is supposed to be very good.   I note your comments about macro lens but you will need a ring flash, if you shoot at f48 or 64 to increase your depth of field . </p>

<p>Thanks. i did crop a little bit to avoid distractions but not a lot. may be 10% . The kenko extension tube gave me  the reach and the magnification.  </p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>I used canon 50 mm F 1.8 mark II lens with 25 mm extension tube to focus closer . camera settings 1/200, F 6.3 , ISO 400  , manual focus . the bee is constantly moving and hence it's extremely difficult to get a sharp picture with such a low depth of field. my best in about 50 attempts. </p>
