Centre weighted and spot are very close as they should be by the exposure times.
Personally, I always use spot metering and it usually works for me. I have tried using
other metering but I find that spot metering produces results that I find more acceptable.
I try to find a “neutral” area of contrast in the scene I am focusing on and adjust camera
settings to suit that – exposure time f-stop etc.

I don’t trust any setting other than manual and the meter while I leave it on evaluative I rarely use it. I find metering by eye gets me close to where I want and a quick LCD screen check and I’m dialed in where the meter is consistently off from what I want. Oksana has a metering mode video somewhere where she does tests with the different modes and results she got.
