untitled-2.jpguntitled-3.jpguntitled.jpguntitled-4.jpgThe four photos were taken this past Spring in Central Park and Park Avenue with a Nikon D600 and a Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G telephoto lens. I wanted a shallow depth of field effect and so used a wide aperture setting to create the look I wanted. This is my first post!

some good shots… just me, but I almost think a little longer depth of field would be better in the first shot to get all the flowers on the branch in focus while keeping the others out of focus.

Thanks for your feedback. However, capturing some flowers in focus and some not was exactly the effect I wanted. Also, a shallower depth of field allowed me to capture the sunlight “glow” effect on the flowers in focus.

Nice pics. Sometimes shallow depth of field works and

sometimes everything in focus looks good.

Hope to see more posts from New York!

Dale.

The last photo was Great and the I believe that the photo perspective has also changed due to high focal length, but it helped to improve the composition.
