I’ve put the statue in a more fitting location. Taken out the uplighters and plaque. Rather poorly hand drawn some fire. And finaly messed around with the colours to warm it up.

Nice job, Paul!
I can almost hear the animals in the jungle and feel the warmth of the fire.

I changed the background using the gradient tool and added shadow for statue layer. I had the impression that the statue is a part of the exhibition. (No too much of imagination on my site ;-)

Here, the background was brought to black in Lightroom 5 with numerous passes of the adjustment brush tool at the maximum negative exposure level of -4.0 stops.  Additional lighting to the statue was added with the same tool at positive exposure settings.

Finally, progressive darkening from the statue’s right side was done with the graduated filter tool set to reduce exposure.
This is particularly apparent on the statue’s left leg and base which are furthest from the single lamp.

Hello Maryla.

Welcome to our forum.  We hope you enjoy our company and participate by commenting and posting.
I’m looking forward to seeing your photographs and hearing your opinions.

Your Buddha stands out from the crowd as you have brought it inside.
I like your interpretation that it is part of an exhibit.
I can feel the museum visitors around me as we gaze at the statue.
Nice job, Maryla.  Especially with the shadow.

Very nice composition, but I would remove a plaque from the granite and reduce light coloured steps (It reminds me of the museum…)

As I started to learn to use Lightroom (amazes me is how a great tool it is for digital photography – long way to go) :-) I see one more step to maximize the excellence of your composition. I would corrected the level of statue layer to the right.

Regards, Maryla
