Here is my second entry into the crazy/funny sign contest (first was the elderly people crossing)… this is not a great shot… I took it in the early 80s when I lived in Ansbach, Germany.  As I remember, I took it as I was driving down the Autobahn (yes, not the safest maneuver) with a point and shoot camera outside of Stuttgart.

All of these signs I saw in Ulverston, England.  I am from Canada so the wording of these can be taken different ways, so of course, I found humour in these.

 

  1. Please drive carefully horses (they are crazy drivers)
  2. Dogs found chasing livestock will be shot (a very funny sign as it was on a Buddhist temple property
  3. Slow Festival (meaning drive slow…but it could be taken another way)
  4. No mugs allowed (I assume they meant to not take your brew out and about on the street)
  5. Free will reviews (Yes it is a lawyer, but still, you have no free will)
  6. Please drive carefully horses (they really are horrible drivers)
  7. Slow lambs on road. (they aren’t too bright)

Good signs Brian. I have been to Europe and wish

I had taken pics of some of the “unusual” signs found

in various parts of the world.

For now I’ll have to look around Victoria to see if we have

any good ones here.
