Hi,
My name is Clint and I live in Oxford, England. I have spent most of my life serving in Royal Air Force and served for over 25 years. I am now currently working in Afghanistan as a civilian supporting operation Enduring Freedom. I intend to make this my final year out here and then return back to England and start my own events photography business.

I have been into photography for most of my adult life however it has only amounted to point and shoot type of cameras. My first so called real camera was a Canon A1 which I really loved and that gave me the bug for photography of which I have never lost. The only problem was that with the type of job I was doing in the military I never seemed to have the time or chance to take photography up more seriously. However, that has now all changed. I am at the moment using a Nikon D7000 my first DSLR and will also be purchasing the D800 at Christmas when I return home for my R&R.

I love portraiture and landscape photography the best and want to continue enhancing my skills and techniques. I have found that the best way is to just get out there and shoot away but I also have found that listening to others and not being afraid to ask questions help. I think blogs like this one is so helpful and have a wealth of knowledge that is shared by likeminded individuals.

I think we are all fortunate to have someone like Oksana running the show and who has the experiance and knowledge in this field. I personally want to thank you Oksana for explaining the principles of the DSLR to my wife. I have tried so hard to explain in simple terms but to no avail. My wife watched the first 3 videos and all she could say is “why didn’t you explain it like that”? Thank you, you have saved me from a lot of grief, pain and headaches.

Anyway I think that is enough of me prattling on. I look forward to meeting you in the forums and exchanging ideas and experiences. I will keep you informed as to how the business takes off and of any pit falls I encounter but any advice would be much appreciated.

Clint
