Sadly, Shaela died on Sunday from a tragic hiking accident.

She was the first model I had ever worked with, and she was not only professional but fun. She was always smiling and just lighting up wherever she was. I am finding it all hard to take in that she has passed away, especially so young. Seeing posts on her page shows how many people loved her and were very fond of her. She touched so many people’s lives and made them better.

She gave me the confidence to realize that I actually could be a photographer.  When I first met her I had no idea what to do, how to do a shoot with a model (I had only ever shot my daughter or my cats).  She was great.

Just thought I would share.

Brian, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so sad. She was so gorgeous with beautiful smile. Somehow some good people are here for a short time, do their thing and leave. Life is a mystery which is hard to understand sometimes.

Thanks Oksana.  She was very loved and she touched many people’s lives, all for the better.  Sad to see her gone, but at the same time it is really nice to see so much outpouring of love for her.  She really was a treasure.
