I really don’t understand why an f/1.8 (I assume wide open) aperture and an ISO of 500 (a bit high) would require a relatively slow shutter speed of 1/25 of a second. This shutter speed would usually not be fast enough to hand hold with a 50mm lens. Was the scene unusually dark and only ambient light available?
I like the composition very much and your brother has a wonderful expression.
