This is my first time posting and I am kind of nervous about posting some photos :-/ But here goes nothing. This is my daughter and her boyfriend. We were bored one day (it was really cold) and decided we would go have fun taking some photos. These are just a couple. Of course I came home with about 500+ photos. I just cant ever quit clicking :) Who’s with me on that ?

Now let the critiquing begin :) samandalex.jpgback.jpg

Welcome to the forums, and dont be nervous about posting photos..
I like the photos, the first i think is the best. I like the look of the girl is giving her boyfriend. Its like she is saying OMG… to him. The photo is soft and have nice light.
The second photo does not have a strait horizon.. Wink Nice soft pic. I like the composition and the light.

Great work..

I really like that 2nd photo, it’s like they are looking off to their future together.
Senior photos or engagement session?

Thanks you guys! Madman, I have seen that you are a very symmetrical person :) and that’s good! I kinda like that opposite lean of the camera as opposed to the way she is leaning her head. The first picture captures their personality to at “T”!! They are so comical together and I just love them to death!!

Mike, these kids are 17 and 18. I know they have wonderfully, perfect plans for their future as they are still sooooo young!! My daughter knows their future lies AFTER college :)

That is the most pictures I have ever seen on one post!
You took some really nice pics and they look like they
have a great time together.
If I was you I would make the watermark less conspicuous
by shrinking it and placing it in one corner. It does detract
from the look of some of the pictures.
Keep on posting for us to enjoy.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing! I really like how you play with different angles, composition and DoF. I also think that you post processing is cool. It give photos kind of vintage feel, which totally works. You can also tell that your models are very relaxed, natural and having a lot of fun!

Oksana, that means so much to me to hear this coming from you. I found your YouTube feed as soon as I got my camera. I was totally lost in how to operate it and BAM….you made it so easy. I think I watched your videos over and over and have referred you to many people. Thanks for sharing your knowlege.

Thank you all for your nice comments. This really helps boost my confidence. NikonMan, I will definitely take your suggestion to mind.

I am proud of you, Shannon! It looks like you are up to something good. You’ll see, their friend will be asking you to take their couple pics soon, if not yet. I am so happy you could learn something from me! Thanks for referring my video to other.

Hello Shannon, welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your photoshooting, looks like they got a nice book. I liked very much the tonality of the colors, a litle retro-style, very clean, very suitable for the enviroment. You were able to capture their expressions and movements in a good framework. The watermark participates in the composition, and that is an option. I personaly like it and it’s funny. I also like your post production for this particular set.

Really nice shots… Your daughter and her boyfriend seem so relaxed, even with you being there with them.
This is what you have been able to capture… the two of them with each other. Excellent.
Please… in the future… soften the watermark and make it much less obtrusive. There is no need to shout.

Mandrake.

Welcome to the forum, nice photos. Lighten up on the amount of photos you take. After a wile you will have so much that you will not have enough storage and its going to be hard to let go of some to clear the storage. Try to take less photos but better ones that is the mind set I try to have.

PS. when my daughters get to be old enough to start dating I am bringing a shot gun to a walk, not a camera.

Funny you say that about the amount of photos to take. I made a deal with my daughter. I told her if she gets me 5 couples together for a Valentine shoot, I would take $5 off the price for the couples and I would give her a cut as well :) I also told her that I was only taking 3 poses of each couple AND THAT IS IT!! HAHA.

This photo shoot with my daughter and her bf was more of an advertisement of my couple shots.
