In Hamilton there will be one construction work doing whatever it is that construction workers do, and three guys standing around watching.  Sometimes one will have a shovel to lean on.  I assume he is a supervisor or manager.

And that is why a simple construction job that would cost only a few thousand dollars will cost the city a million.

This fellow is one of a crew currently replacing windows and siding on my neighbor’s home.
Presumably, they are being paid a flat rate for the job and not on an hourly basis.  One would hope.

Wanting to see how I could improve these photos, I experimented in Lightroom.
The third shot in particular bothered me as the brightest part of the photo was the least important.
I used Lightroom’s Radial Filter to increase the exposure of the worker’s face.
Similarly, I used the Graduated Filter from the left side of the photo to darken the very bright pile of construction material.
I think it worked.

It looks better, Mandrake. I just wish it would not be blown out, since your eye always goes to the brightest part in the image. And there is nothing interesting there. I actually like #2. He looks like it is half asleep.

OK, my final edit for this guy.
I really do have to move on to other things.

Mandrake
First time I’ve really felt like getting back on the computer for a while. I had a small accident and
cracked a bone in my wrist. On the mend finally but it hurts like hell still to even type. Took a few
pics today so that was a start. Best season and weather of the year and I end up in a cast – go figure!!!
Your pictures of that construction worker are universal. Same thing happens up here. One guy pretends
to work and about 10 other ones watch.
Have to get back to work soon. Luckily I have job interruption insurance so that kicked in while I was off.
Good to be able to get back on the computer. Have been dictating to Ann (wife) when I had to answer emails
and she was getting pretty tired of doing that lol!
Dale.

Dale… Hope everything mends quickly.  Here it’s been really too hot to do much outside so I’ve been enjoying watching the construction works not constructing.  It’s truly amazing how long it’s taking them to do nothing.

Thanks for the concern and kind words guys!
Feeling a lot better and going back to work in a few minutes.
It was a simple case of losing my balance and my left wrist took
the punishment. It’s times like these that I wish I was either retired
or had a cushy desk job but no such luck lol!
Taught me a good lesson to pay more attention to my surroundings though.
Should be posting some pics in the near future and can’t wait to get back
to walking around Victoria in this fantastic weather.
