First, welcome to the forum!!! I am a novice as well, but I think a lot would depend on what kind of pictures you like taking… if sports, then I would put a larger zoom lens high on the list (the Nikon 28-300 would actually get you out to about 450! That would get you really close to the action). If landscapes, I would recommend a tripod, backpack, and a polarizing and ND filters. If portraits, then some light boxes/flash and tripod, then a portrait prime lens… I don’t take a lot of portraits so I don’t have a flash or any light boxes… I have a D600 with an 85m prime and the 28-300 zoom. I have a benro travel angel tripod, a tamerac evolution bag and some Lee ND filters. I can give you reviews on any of those…

Welcome to the forum Vishnu! Michael is so right. It all depends on what kind of photography you would like to do. Please give us a bit more info about that!
