Interesting photo. Kind of reminds me red square painting by Malevich. Very minimalistic and smacked in the middle. I am not sure about your settings. Could you please explain why did you choose the settings you choose?

My goal was to make the entire background black, just highlighting the lamp and zero post production. i was playing around with the shutter speed and aperture value keeping ISO in Auto mode. I got the best result at this setting 
@Mandrake: I know the settings are a bit crazy 
, may be there is better way to achieve this….
