A lone freighter off Victoria has guiding lights to help it keep it’s course.

Beautiful, Dale.
I would frame and hang.

My tinkering:
I cropped the left to just before the first ray and adjusted PS levels at both ends just a bit.
I think it improved composition (3rd’s thing).
The crop also eliminated the leftmost reflection on the ocean which may be distracting.
Level adjustment gave it a bit more drama.
Try if you like.

Mandrake
Thanks for the comments! I missed the real light show by about 2 minutes or less.
It was a dramatic scene and I do wish that I had a longer lens to tighten it up but
I took the pic with what I had and it turned out pretty good – looks a lot better at 300K
and 300dpi resolution.

Excellent shot Dale.
Sometimes clouds and sunlight make fantastic scenes. Good job. I love this picture

I like the dramatic feel, but I would probably frame it different. The sky is the subject in this image, but the way you framed it make it less important. I would include more sky and less water with the horizon in the lover third instead on upper third.

Thank you Sam and Oksana
Like I told Mandrake – wish I had a longer lens with me but…
The sky was dramatic and I see your point – it was a tough
call for me on which way to go. Next time more sky and
see less sea lol!

Hi nikonguy, I in part coincided with Oksana it shall be framed different, for example using the 35mm lens I alway use diagonal framer oever all in seascape. However now again I see the same tone change in the scene overall in the sea the line is very sharp to be natural. It could be because u have a cloud over, but is almost square. Perhaps if your retouch it it will be solve. I don’t find the mensage of this picture.

Silky
The message of this picture is how what we think of as huge
and indestructible is dwarfed by the enormity of nature.
Or – maybe the message is: if the weather looks like this, be
sure to wear rubber boots so your feet don’t get wet.
Either one works for me.

Thank you – it was quite a strange sky that day.
