Made a few changes to the original to see
how far I could go without really degrading
the original image. Considering the changes
I made I’m surprised that there is still a viewable
image! 1st pic right out of camera, 2nd one really
played around with.IMG_0131-2.jpgIMG_0131.jpg

Nice! That is one SCARY bird.
I love playing with LR and Elements.
You did a fantastic job of enhancing the bird’s markings.
The grey on grey on grey is perfect.

Mandrake
Around here we refer to them as living dinosaurs.
They are awkward, loud, and just plain prehistoric
looking.
That’s why we love taking pictures of them. I’ve seen
them crash into trees while trying to land (have to get
a pic of that one day!!!).
But still, they do possess a strange fascination to us so
we keep on taking pics of these weird animals.
Dale.

I like the 2nd picture, I think the settings(1/800, f/5.6 and iso 100) are apt for this shot

Appreciate the comments!
The bird in the pics is called a Great Blue Heron.
Usually they’re more grey than blue.
They can look quite graceful when in flight, or, absolutely
awkward when they hang their wings down and flap away!
As far as I’m concerned the face on one of these things could
stop a clock but people really do like them and a lot of pictures
are taken at nesting time!
Dale.
