It’s that time of the year again when the Heron’s
in Victoria set up house.
1. Heron snaps off branch to take to building site.
2. Heron trying to climb his way to the top of the tree.
3. He made it – time to start building!IMG_8977-2-2.jpgIMG_8980-2.jpgIMG_8981-2.jpg

Glad you both liked the shots!
The heron rookeries were almost wiped out
by bald eagles during the last few years. It is
amazing that the herons didn’t give up and are
back stronger than ever. This heron was at least
60 feet up the pine tree checking out the new building
site it had chosen. Sky was overcast and actually worked
pretty well as a backdrop.
Dale.

Great shots, Dale.
I’m sure there are not many documenting this.

btw… Bald Headed Eagles are the property of the United States.
Please return any that have gone Canadian.

Mandrake
Those American eagles sure do like dining
on our Canadian salmon.
I don’t think they want to leave.
Dale.
