Love the first… Great clarity with the bird.  Do you know it’s species?
Nice composition on this one as well.

The second photo might be cropped to remove unnecessary foliage on the left and bottom.
This would put your bird at a perfect rule of thirds point in the image and make it larger in the photo.
I like the lilght in this one.  I’m thinking morning.

I definitely like this composition better.

Photoshop is great for local adjustments.
I prefer Lightroom for overall image corrections.
Have you tried Lr?  A 30 day trial of Lr5 is well worth the effort.

Really nice pics. The first one is great and it goes to prove that the
little 18-55 kit lens is a killer when it comes to clarity!
Mandrake is right – try Lr on a trial basis. It’s easy to get used to and
really can enhance even good photos to make them even better.
Dale.

Good sharpness of #1. Beautiful bird.

Lightening on #2 is very interesting.

About Lightroom. At the moment Adobe has Photoshop CC + Lightrom 5 package for $9.99/mo
