This is from a photoshoot I did at the end of March 2013, in an hotel room.  This was a scripted shoot, because I wanted to make a movie with it, a kind of modern day photo novella.  This movie is completed and if you are interested to see it, you can click here to watch it.  NSFW!  Thanks.

In this shot I see someone who is depressed or

sad while contemplating her future. I could be

totally wrong but by creating a B&W image with the

camera positioned above, looking down toward

her darkened eyelids, forlorn facial expression and running

water from the tap she presents a feeling of desperation

from some recent event.

That’s what I’m seeing and please correct me if I’m wrong

because I find it a fascination picture.

@Dale, that is exactly what I was shooting for. She’s a good actress, she is actually funny, fresh and confident, she was a pleasure to work with.  I was just afraid of loosing my footing and fall on her, as I am pretty tall and heavy…

Thanks for watching Mandrake.

I started to watch the video but as soon as that top button was undone, and I was at work, I had to stop.

Will watch it later, but the picture above is lovely.

Great shot and the emotions are very important in such shots…

And she is very talented actress to show everything she wants to express…

I love the movie! B&W works great! Love when photos are telling the story! Just posted it on my Facebook page for others to see. The only thing I am not 100% sure about is the music, but maybe it is just me. I always have a hard time to find a good music for a background.

I am very happy to hear that!  I would not have dared to ask you to post it on your facebook, but I will take it certainly!  Youtube is very particular with the music you put on videos, you have to be licensed and all that.  This is a royalty free track that came with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12.  Maybe not the best thing, I actually wanted to make it myself, but it would have delayed the publishing by weeks.

The track support the emotional beats of the movie though, so it is ok.

I have friends that are pro musicians, and I have used some of their material in videos before, with their permission.  This music was flagged by Youtube as copyrighted, because it is published around the world, even if they do not really make any money out of this.  I contested and wrote Youtube that I was licensed to use the music, so they relented.  They did not ask me to provide the proof but they could.

Your videos draw a lot of views.  I am sure that if you have musician friends, they could make it for you at no or minimal charge just to have the exposure and have a “if you like the music, buy it here” link at the end of your videos.

There is a lot of talent out there.  Post in a music forum what kind of music you are looking for.

Good luck!

Triple Scoop Music, it’s pricey for each song but you get the license to use it as needed so it’s an option and they have a large library with quality work.
