A few pics taken when the sun
was shining. Guess I’ll have to
put the snow boots on soon and
take a pic or two of something
covered in snow lol.

Liking the second the best. The water is so calm.
Even the gull is barely disturbing it.

Mandrake
Did you use the graduated filter on the water?

I like that one too Mandrake. Didn’t use
a grad filter just did some manipulation
in LR to make it look a little better. Had a
great calm day to take the pic and the water
really reflected the colours of the buildings
and wildlife.

Great shots Dale. What settings and lens did you use? These are some of my dream images.

Thank you Deensani
I used my old faithful Canon Rebel xsi for the top
and bottom pic and my Nikon D7000 for the
middle one. I always keep ISO as low as possible
to keep pictures clean. I think the top and bottom pics
were taken with 18-55 kit lens @ close to 55mm and
around 1/200th second or so and the middle picture
had to be taken with my 35mm prime @ about f6.3 and
1/200th or so of a second. I usually chimp my pics real
quick and if needed I adjust a little to improve the look.
By the way “chimping” is a silly name for taking a look
right after you take the pic to see if everything is the way
you want it.

Silky
Really appreciate the kind comments. I am blessed to
live in such a lovely part of the world. British Columbia is
my Province and Victoria is my home. It’s part of what is
called the Pacific Northwest and we do have the 4 seasons
so there is always something to take pictures of (although I
sure do prefer spring and summer).
I am also grateful to people like Oksana and others who take the time
to show the rest of us how to use our equipment properly.
And of coarse Mandrake who always has a comment or two lol.
Thanks again Silky – keep taking pics and posting…Dale
