I was in Sacramento last week with my family, we stopped by Old Town and of course I had my camera.  There are so many interesting building and the old train depot that I must have taken 200 pictures. Here are some I took I originally wanted to stay away from the HDR look but as you see I failed. I used Lightroom and Topaz Adjust 5 in post. Almost forgot I did add the clouds to the train depot images they look a bit bland with clear skies, I shot the cloud formations the day before.IMG_0933-Edit-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_0963-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_0970-Edit.jpgIMG_0981-Edit-Edit-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_0994-Edit-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_1019-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_1031-Edit-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_1054-Edit-Edit-Edit-Edit.jpgIMG_1060-Edit.jpgIMG_1063-Edit-3-Edit-2.jpgIMG_1065-Edit.jpgIMG_1073-Edit-Edit.jpg

The place seems like a photographer’s dream.  I’m particularly fond of the first and sixth photos.
The sixth and ninth are easily corrected with one adjustment click in Lightroom.  Lens corrections > basic > auto.
Are you totally committed to HDR at the moment?  I’m sure some standard photography would also be enjoyable.

Yes… I can see that you did a bit of post.
The Attachments list is quite revealing and very funny.

That’s some crowd around the Tattoo Parlor.
Were they giving away free infections?

There should be some “working girls” waving down from the balcony in the last photo.
Or…. is that not legal in Sacramento?
Although….. I did find this lovely lady in the second photo.

I see what you mean about the attachment list guess I should give them a title, thanks for the lightroom tip.  Later on tonight I will be posting pictures I took at the zoo that day and NO HDR lol  I am not committed to HDR persay  but old buildings and trains seem to bring out my HDR Mr Hyde side.

Not a huge fan of HDR but the effects you have achieved with these images are
really interesting. I agree with Mandrake that it looks like a great area to be let loose
in with a camera.

HDR can be cool, when used right and on the right subject. I think it totally works with for these images.

I’ve been to Sacramento for a beauty pageant and didn’t know about that place, so after the pageant we left and went strait to Napa and then San Francisco. I wish we knew. Maybe next time. Looks very cool!
