I picked up the Nikkor AF-S DX 35mm 1.8 yesterday for my D5100 and I’m loving it.
$200 at Best Buy. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a prime lens for a DX body.

Here’s a sampling:

The 35 1.8 is an incredible lens for the price!
Tack sharp (as you have demonstrated) with
great low light capability.
Nice shots – love the mallard of course lol!
About time you took a pic of a majestic duck.
Great images and well done.
Dale.

That kind of sharpness is usually reserved
for very high quality (and expensive) lenses!
That is why I bought the 7000 as a body only
and opted to put the 35 on it.
It has always been a great combination for me
and it obviously is for you too!!!
Great stuff – hope you enjoy it for a long, long time.
Dale.
