This pic was taken on my D7000 and a 28-300mm Lens.
I took the shot at Sunset at At Kilda Beach South Australia.
I submitted the Pic to a National TV Station (Channel 7) as they introduce a Weather Picture each night prior to talking about and showing the Weather.
This one was selected from 100’s submitted. As it is here is as it was shown on Channel 7,

Please do not think I am bragging because I was shocked when I saw it being introduced as I didn’t really think I would have a chanceLOL.
So, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

f/5.6, 1/400, ISO 100

Thanking You

With out a doubt, one of your best, Ian.
Congratulations on it’s selection for the television broadcast.

There is much to admire about this photograph.
Color, composition, leading lines, and the story it tells.

Love the sense of distance, the dead level horizon, and the needed open space for the birds’ flight.
The sun breaks through the storm leaving the rays as its gift.

I also enjoy the happy surprise of the higher group of birds, almost hidden in the cloud,
and not discovered until the very last.

A winner.

Beautiful shot!
Everything works perfectly and you should be proud of
it.
The TV station would have been nuts to show something
other than this – it’s a winner!
By the way Mandrake – I picked the birds out immediately.
