Canon 450d
Canon EF-S 10-22 @ 14mm
Aperture f/25
ISO 100
Exposure 1 second

Shot from my tripod I chose the f/25 aperture in order to increase the exposure time to smooth out the sea.
The tree growing out of the rock is quite unique and is the only place that I have seen this in this area.

Hi Glenn,
Love the pictures and the composition. Question, on the rock in the middle of the picture there is something sticking up. is that a person, a tree or an antenna? I also checked your Flicker pictures and you have another picture with a different angle of this place and on that picture I also see something on the rock. And I’m curious like a Monkey… lol
By the way. That second picture is pretty cool. I love the blue water.

Love, Monkey

Thanks Madman!

Monkey: The object in the far rock is actually a flag of the state here of Catalunya. Also on the far rock which you can´t really see because of the image size is a lot of Seagulls, several hundred or so living on that rock.
Since you mentioned the other photos from flickr, I will go ahead and post them here for others to enjoy. Thanks for the feedback!

The last photo is very good… I really like the composition and the blurry water.
But i think you got some dirt on your sensor or on your lens.. There are some spots in the sky.. Wink

Glenn
Great shots!
That tree really enhances the first picture.
I agree with you on the 1 second exposure to smooth
out the sea.
It really worked well and the results are very very nice.

The long shutter speeds make for an unrealistic image which, for some reason, disturbs me.
I want the sea to look like the sea.
Put it back like it was.

Sensor dust…. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

We are all entitled to our opinions, Silky.
The sea has a special place in my heart
and I prefer to see it as it is.

btw… we had a bit of snow last night.
I will not be able to venture outside,
but will take some photos from my window.

Lovely images, Glenn72. You do need to need to clean your sensor, as Mandrake noticed. You can also easily remove the spots in Lightroom or Photoshop. Besides that I like them a lot.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I did a rush job with the spot removal and looks like I missed a few spots. I agree the sensor is probably a bit dirty although when you shoot at f/25 you will see every little bit of dust that you may not notice at f/8 or so.
