This is from downtown Hamilton, Ontario. There are these old painted signs all over the city, faded and worn away.

These are very nice cityscapes.
Great composition and lines with Tip Top and lots of things to see on King William Street.
Kudos on avoiding serious leaning buildings.
I would guess that you used the camera distortion fix in Photoshop.
(Properties tell me that you’re working with Photoshop (CS6). Correct me if I’m wrong.)

Still a bit of work though.
Tip Top can be fixed so that it’s left edge is vertical without losing it’s top.
(filter-correct camera distortion-vertical perspective in PS Elements.)
Something might be done with the leftmost building in the street scene. I didn’t experiment.

King William is a bit overexposed and the sky is…………. well, it’s completely blown.
Photoshop has a few fixes.
I experimented, and raising the blacks in levels to 17 does wonders for the street.
The sky… It can be completely replaced or blued with a gradient. (I didn’t try)

Keep clicking, Brian. It’s the way.

Mandrake, thank you so much for your advice.

I am working on doing what you said in the images so I can learn.

For the Tip Top Tailor…I did the skew as you recommended, and here is what I came up with. Better?

I will work on the cityscape later today.

Once again, thank you.

Brian
Nice fix on the Tip Top pic!
We are all learning how to take better
photographs and good advice is always
something to take seriously.
By the way – have you watched the videos
put out by Oksana?
If not I urge you to do so as they are very
informative and easy to listen to.
Dale.

Thank you for the feedback Dale.

I have seen all of Oksana’s videos and they are very helpful, just a lot to remember haha.

All of the advice and critique that is given I am taking very seriously. Even though I am not a professional, and barely an amateur at that, I just want to do the best I can, and the advice will help me get there.

Thanks again.
