About me… just enjoy taking pictures everytime i can, right now with a Nikon D5100, but i started the lessons with a Lumix FZ35.

Yes, welcome Arturo.

The 5100 is what I started with a few years back and I still think it’s one great camera.
I’m sure it’s also nice to have the FZ35’s 18x zoom when you need it.

As Michael has said, we look forward to seeing your photos and, please, comment often.

Good luck on the playoff with Jordan next month.

Thanks for the welcome !!

Will try to upload photos as soon as posible (and have some free time :) )

I must admit I miss the FZ35, but have no regrets with the D5100, it’s a great camera.

Just got the 50mm 1.8D lens for it, and it’s great… Of course have a lot to learn still.

Regards

The 50mm 1.8 should be a great portrait lens for you.
Which other lenses do you use?  I assume you have the 18-55.

I’ve built up my collection.
Now have the 35 1.8, 50 1.8, 18-55 kit, and the 55-300 which was also kit.

I’m thinking of a macro.  Maybe the 40mm 2.8.

But then…. I’m also thinking of the new Sony Alpha 7 or 7R.
Will have to wait for the full reviews on those.

For the moment only 18-55 (kit) and the 50mm, next buy is a speedlight and after that a 55-200.

From your lenses, wich you like better ?

The Sony Alpha 7 looks amazing, like most of mirrorless cameras…

Actually, i´m almost went for Lumix GH3 when step from Bridge camera to DSLR.

They all have a place.  I really don’t need the 35 AND the 50 1.8’s.  One would have been enough.
I would suggest the 55-300 over the 55-200 for the extra reach.  I’ts my outdoor walk-around.

I haven’t gone with a speedlight.  I wouldn’t know what to do with it.  LOL.
