Taken on a “Casino Cruise” ship. I didn’t gamble. One of our friends (lady on far right in first photo) invited us. Out of Titusville (Cape Canveral, Florida). I always used fill flash outdoors for shadows. I did bounce it off of anything around me when i could..walls, etc.IMG_5598-2.png

Nice set of photos. I really like the picture of the legs in stripy dress. Nice contrast against circles on the flour.

#2 – beautiful portrait, juts could not get past somebody hand on the right! This is a real no-no in my world. Please crop it off!!! AAA! LOLLaugh

She wanted a 8 x 10 of that second one. i HAD to crop it to fit that size. But yes, i see your point. My wife and her circle of friends want so many photos when we have something going on, that it takes me forever to do them. I’m mainly trying all these different soft focus techniques and filters and by the time I’m done, i don’t even see those things (hand cropped).

I need to stop obsessing on each and every photo. I spend about 5 hours every time with about 2 dozen shots give or take. Wondering…do you use one FAVORITE soft focus techique Oksana? I have different ones, but they all appear pretty similar (Color Effex Pro). Having lightroom now AND photoshop really makes me spend too much time.

LOL! I know the feeling! This is why I am focusing on portrait photography in my business instead of events. Because I like everything perfect and with 100s shoots it would drive me crazy. Do you mean soft focus in post?

Oksana, yes soft focus in post. I have 3 programs now and it was complicated enough with one before! With so much editting, i have to really cut way way back on spending time in all these programs. Alot of things are just too close such as soft focus in various programs, that I just end up making a bee line to the closest one available and apply that one to ever photo.

The one good thing in Lightroom that i like is how you can sync photos with similar lighting..at least it’s a starting point. I haven’t been doing much photography latelly…been oil painting and i need a break!! from that.

That hand to crop…i’d never do that in a painting of course and i AM obsessive with details also like you. I’m a perfectionist too. But i just have so many photos to edit………i just overlooked that thing.
