My first real attempt at enhancing a portrait photo with lightroom…

PLaying with brushes and all… I like the result.. How about you guys?

Beautiful shot, Eric.  Don’t ya just love Lightroom?  Once you start there is more and more you find that you can do with it.

I don’t see any camera settings, but I’m guessing you had your lens pretty close to wide open from the shallow depth of field.

The photo would be perfect if both of your daughter’s eyes were in focus.  Next time you might want to try a smaller aperture.

Thanks for the comment mandrake..

I was watching a tutorial video on youtube on how to retouch faces… the example had a person with almost exact pose, and his example photo had one 1 eye in focus, so i kinda replicated exactly what he did.. I know what you mean though.. i think i would prefer 2 eyes in focus but.. it was just for learning to play with the brushes.

Setting were 1/40, f4, iso 300, 30mm (zoom lens)

That’s a great shot Eric…nice composition.

Just in my opinion if you could replicate the eyes somehow, as the window (i guess) in her eyes is little disturbing.

You ll get some videos on youtube to guide you through , you can try it.

As you said, the shot would be even more appealing if both of her eyes were in focus.

Waiting for some more of portrait shots from you..

Smile

It would be nice if you could also post before picture, so we can see the difference. :)
