We where out on the ice and i took this pic. of my daughter.
I used my 16-85mm on it and think it did a good job.

Madman
Very nice – I really like the way
Nikon cameras show the colour.
Very realistic and true.
Good blur to the background too!
PS – Tell your daughter that she
photographs really well.
Dale.

Silky
Most Nikon bodies are now made in Thailand and
lenses China.
At least that’s where mine were made.

Hi Madman,
Great photo and a beautiful model too. Composition is good, the color are really good and bokeh is nice and soft.
Is that a a kit lens? What’s f-stop did you use?
One thing I could suggest is using a flash with a white diffuser on it. I noticed that natural light is coming from her left shoulder and it’s creating a bit of shadows to the right side of her face and under her chin. The flash with a diffuser would soften the shadow and perhaps pop the color on her scarf for it would diminish some of the shadow on it. Just a thought. Other wise, it’s a very natural playful portrait. Well done.

Love, Monkey

Yes, it`s the kit lens that followed my D7000.
I used 1/200sek. f/6.3 ISO100. Did not have my flash with me, and the popup is no good i think.
Thx. for like.

What would you touch up?
Maybe darken the blue of the sky a little?
I think it looks fine. It’s a natural pose of a
young girl – it’s not a model in a studio.
Madman – nothing wrong with the pic!

Another photo of my daughter, taken last summer.
Taken with my old D3100 at f/4.8 – 1/160sec. – ISO 100 – with my 70-300 lens at 195mm. Ambient light.
