I’ve not done a lot of true portrait work and I’m not sure this really qualifies either as it was taken of my niece at her high school graduation so no special lighting other than the flash on my camera… I have a before and after retouching so anyone can give me advice on what else I should do (or did I do too much already).

thanks for the feedback

lol, Michael. I feel like you almost didn’t do anything.  A lot can be done depending how far would you like to go.

– First of all pimples. It is not a permanent part of the person, so I never feel the need for them to stay at all.

– Hot spots from the flash

– Even out makeup. She has some lines on the checks.

– if you want to take it to the next level: brighten teeth, minimize bags under the eye, remove some redness in the eyes, cover that bright spot in her hair.

And yes, you sharpen it too much, which made imperfections more visible.

I guess that’s an “F”.
It can only get better.

I’ll try again… I actually did some of Oksana’s suggestions… guess not enough (other than the sharpening 🙂
