I took some images and thought they would look interesting if I played around
with them a little in Lr and, or Ps. I didn’t want to go absolutely nuts on the manipulations
so I kept the changes to what I believe is fairly moderate.
Hope you like the results.

I think we may have already crossed that bridge, but as far as the images go…. I think they’re very creative.
Nice work, Dale.  Isn’t this stuff fun?
(The seal is probably my favorite.)

I love them, Dale! All of them! #1 and 2 looks super cool. I like the while on black painting like effect.I can see them as a series.

It would be nice if you can share with us what did you do to them.

Well –  First of all, thanks for the encouragement Mandrake and Oksana. Whatever you
guys say means a lot to me…and that goes for criticism too!
Oksana – When I run an image through Lr and Ps I don’t have a plan that I follow. I just
do a little of this and some of that and switch back and forth between the 2 programs once
in a while to make minor adjustments that look pretty good to me.
I do use Lr4 a lot as I started with it and feel really comfortable using it. Ps is really quite new
to me but I like the blur and oil paint filters for the artsy effect they give. A lot of trial and error
goes into the final image but I really do enjoy all the tools these programs offer.
I wish I was an expert but I’m plodding along one day at a time and learning a little bit here and
there as I go.
I also like the first two images and I will be getting them printed to see how they turn out at about
16×20″ or so with a nice mat and a decent frame around them.
Will let you guys know how they look after I get them done.
Dale.

I have some really interesting shots of old cars that I took during the summer. Maybe one day
I’ll do some post processing of them and see what they look like after some manipulations in Lr and Ps.
S-l-o-w-l-y learning how to do post processing in Ps6 after all this time spent with Lightroom.

Dale… I’ve found that the great majority of the time (at least 80%) that I spend in post processing is done in Lightroom.
Photoshop (or in my case, Elements) is indispensable for those special problems that Lightroom can’t handle, but Lr is usually the program of choice for me.

I totally agree with you that Lightroom is a great program and I’ve loved using it and will
continue to do so. I have found that Photoshop just adds a little extra by using blur and paint
filters so I’ve been playing around with that for a while. I feel much more comfortable with Lr
and would have a hard time relying on Ps to do all my post processing.
Ps is just there when I want to do something a little different to add to the image and like I said
I have a long way to go before I would even consider myself anywhere near proficient at it.
Dale.

I got a great deal on Ps as an educator… never used Lr… but I’m not sure it would be worth purchasing if I already have Ps.

Michael… You know how I feel about it… Greatest invention since sliced bread.
(People just don’t say that anymore – lol.)

Amazon online download for educators is $79.00.

Greatest invention since sliced 100% whole wheat bread!
Gotta keep health conscious lol.
I really think Lr is something I will always enjoy using and Ps is another tool
to use with Lr for more options and creativity. I wouldn’t want to be without
either now.
Dale.

Betty is 92.  She was born on January 17, 1922.
Now leave her alone.

Sliced bread was first sold in 1928.
Wheat is over 3,000 years old, about my age.

Betty’s old but I think she just might make it to 100 – hope she does!
My photography group is going to a church today to take some pics so while I’m there
I’ll say a little prayer for her lol!
Dale.
