Ok so this isn’t at night…but I was using the tilt shift feature on the camera just to see how it would look. These two pix are of the Niagara Whirpool.

I really like the first shot. Very dramatic.
It could easily be used in an advertisement for the restaurant. http://www.skylon.com/
An ISO of 1600 works well and i see no noise in the night images.

Bit of a focus issue with the last two.
I’m thinking you needed smaller apertures than the f/4 and f/5 used with these.
They gave you very shallow dofs.

Hi There,

As mandrake says that 1st pic is an Advertisers dream shot I reckon.
I like your night shots, but, like mine at the moment, they are not the best you or I can do I reckon.
I have to practice a lot at the moment on night shots, don’t seem to get enough time though.
I’m having enough probs with day shots. LOL.
Well done though and carry on, we get a bit better as time goes on … LOL (I hope)

The focus was using the Tile Shift special effect on the camera itself. So the focus was deliberate. I kind of like the look,

Problem I had with the night shots is that I didn’t have my tripod with me. So everything was handheld, on the Observation Deck of the Skylon Tower and it was very windy. So even though the pics aren’t perfect, they came out really good considering the conditions I had.

Thanks for the compliment on the Skylon pic. I realized when I was look at the pics in Lightroom that my lens had lots of dust on it. So I will be cleaning them tonight.

Forgot to mention that my camera can only do apertures from f/3.8 to f/8. The only regret I have with choosing this camera.

Brian
Some really nice pics. I also think you did a great job
on the Skylon Tower shot!
Your camera is capable of great colour reproduction and
the zoom capabilities are incredible. A couple of shots are
a little soft but it aint a perfect world and the pics are still
enjoyable to view. I think you did a good job on these.
Dale.
