Finally welcome to the forum, Peter! We are looking forward to your posts and comments.

Obviously photo #2 is a winner! It is much sharper and clear.

I use to live in Belgium by Liège, but I never been to Zelzate. Is it where you from?

Hello Peter.  Let me add my welcome to Oksana’s.
I usually take people up on their request for suggestions so here are mine.
I played a bit with your second image in lightroom and came up with the image below.
It’s even more “dramatic” than yours, but my purpose was to get rid of the overall yellow haze.
I’m not at all happy with the water reflections and further work would be needed on that.

The Lightroom adjustments are:
Temperature -55, Exposure -0.60, Contrast 26, Black Clipping -14, Clarity 48
Point Curve: Medium Contrast
Sharpening 79, Luminance Smoothing 40
Post-Crop Vignette -21

If you don’t have/use Lightroom these will not mean much.  Its a relatively inexpensive investment.

Love the edit Mandrake…the final result looks amazing.  Really brings out the best of the picture that hitman took.

Well done Mandrake!

Peter:  Also if you want better results in the camera try to play with different WB settings (I assume you saw my WB video). I would starts with Tungsten, since it helps to take yellow out, but It will not necessary give you the best result. If you have a chance to go to this place again and take the same photo with different WB, it would be great. Please share your pictures with us without post processing, so we can see what will work best.
