While taking photos in my back yard a Norther Woodpecker showed up, this was the first one I’ve seen one

where I live.

Really nice shots. These are northern flickers (a kind of woodpecker). The third one is my favorite. They LOVE suet so I bet you can get them to be regular visitors. (hint: buy hot pepper suet to keep the squirrels away).

Thanks for the info, I spent an hour on line trying to find out what it was, I found it on a chart featuring woodpeckers.
