1. Colour replaces the greys of winter past.
2. Tulips once again are in city planters.
3. Crocuses show their vibrant colours.
4. The annual sludge suck up from our duck ponds (benches provided for event)!DSC_0469-4.jpgDSC_0617.jpgDSC_9359.jpgDSC_9367.jpg

I find the first to be very beautiful.
Excellent composition, and wonderful delicacy.
The minimal color and blackened shadows are perfect for the shot.
Congratulations, Dale. One of your best, in my opinion.

A really big thank you guys for the comments.
The first pic is a result of a perfect day combined
with a good subject and a little help from Lightroom!
I removed all the blue from the sky and that created
the greys in the background. I also reduced the sharpness
to further blur the background. A few more tweaks and this
was the result – and I think I might actually print and frame this
one because I think it looks pretty good too.
Dale.

1. First photo is my favorite too. Colors are pleasing to the eyes and branches makes you wander around the image.
2. On the second picture I would get rid of the trash can on the background.
3. On the third I would think about more pleasing composition. The blurry flower on the foreground right in the middle doesn’t help.

Thanks again everyone for your comments.
Whenever someone says “that picture would look better if….” I love it!
I thought the crocus pic was pretty good until I read Oksana’s comment and
she was absolutely right! That big out of focus area was a mess.
Same thing with the tulips – background distracting.
Constructive criticism is a good thing and a great learning tool!Smile
By the way the annual sludge suck up is over and brought many tourists to Victoria!Wink

Jose… I did not know that you were in Germany. I was in Germany from late 1963 through early 1965.
Mostly in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. I used to bike into France from Karlsruhe. Very beautiful country.
