Slowly I see a little progress in my action shots, but I still find it difficult to react fast when I see something: shutterspeed, aperture, ISO… So much to learn still :) IMG_3413b.JPGIMG_3414b.JPGIMG_3416b.JPG

Not bad, Ronald! Those are difficult to do and I see that you’ve got good good results. The only thing, I am not sure what did you do in post processing. Looks a bit overdone. Maybe too much sharpening?

Thanks for the encouragement Oksana! I was kind of exited about this first try-out that worked out a little bit. The last one I personally don’t like just because of the post processing. Too much sharpening indeed. I even tried to do it once more today, but I can’t get it the way I would like to… I’m thinking to try a faster shutterspeed next time. These birds move pretty fast!

Great try but the background on these shots serve to take away from
the birds in flight, especially on 2nd and 3rd pics. Do you watch videos
on Youtube regarding camera settings etc. for best capture of things
moving quickly? I’ve taken lots of pics of birds in flight and I agree with
Oksana (and you) that it is a tough subject to capture perfectly and I’ve
deleted a LOT of images because they just aren’t sharp enough.
As they say – practice makes perfect so hang in there and good luck fellow
photographer.
Dale.

You’re right about the backgrounds Dale, especially the third one I don’t like. And about the shutterspeed, I used 1/125 sec. on these ones, but want to experiment in other speeds as well. No, actually I didn’t watch a lot of youtube on this subject until this point. Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to practice a lot still until reaching the point of being completely satisfied on this part, because man, I’ve seen some amazing examples :)
