Thanks for the complement. I too wish the shutter speed was faster. If I’m not mistaken I had the camera in auto mode back then. I was just stepping up from a point and shoot and was taking it step by step. I’d read something and go out and practice it then read the next chapter. I’m still doing it but I’m a little more advanced now and I use the videos along with the books.

JTaylor
Welcome to our group! We’re all here to have a good
time and offer advice to help each other when possible.
Your first pic is a little out of focus (wings) but you did
get the head focussed and the white of the bird isn’t blown.
Not a bad shot for someone coming right from a point and shoot!
Second shot has a very nice warm glow to it with subtle lighting
surrounding the main subject.
Really pleasing shot.

The second shot is very much different from the norm.
The band of light gives the photo an intriguing surrealistic quality.
Needless to say, I like it.

Second one is really a good one and for the first pic….focusing on the whole bird (with the feathers) would be a nice one!Smile

Hi Sam, thanks for the comments. I think the wings are more motion blur than focus. One way or the other it was one of my “first category” photos taken when I was just starting out.

Increasing the shutter would have done its job i guess to remove the motion blur as you call it!!Smile
