Found a beehive in a tree, I took 2 dozen shots only one or two were usable those little guys are fast. I used a very high shutter speed to try to freeze the action. 1/1250, f/5, iso 320, canon EF 75-300mmIMG_2112-2.jpg

Hello John… I’m glad to see you back.

I think this is a great shot considering the flights of the bumble bees.
The only bees out of focus are because of the shallow depth of field.
I can’t determine the focal length on this, but I’m betting it was at the long
end of the 75-300.

Next time get up really, really close to the hive and tell them all to say “cheese”.
Hmmmm… maybe not.

Thanks for the comments, and yes I did use the high end of my 75-300 not wise to get up close and personal with a swarm of bees.

Great shot and the hive is totally is focus which i appreciate…..surely its at the maximum focal length as Mandrake said!! As the shot is grainy at the left side of the picture which is not in focus!!Smile
