My question is silly and I try to find the way really hard but could not figure it out!!!! I hope I will get ans from you guys..
I used lightroom to edit pic and then export it to my computer’s hard drive, now when I uploaded same pic to facebook, it automatically shows my name xxxxxxx’s photography! I don’t want that to happen. I do not have any watermarks. Is there any setting in Lightroom that i have to alter????? please help.. thanks

I would doubt that it has anything to do with Lightroom and everything to do with facebook.
I do not use facebook, so am not sure, but I would guess that facebook is using the name that you gave them
and adding the term “xxxxxxxx’s photography” when you post a photo.

I’m not sure why it bothers you, but it may be that there is a setting for your facebook account that can be changed to remove it.

Interesting! Could you please post a screen shoot so we can see there the name shows up?

Yes, the LR makes that identification even if you don’t have watermark. Whatermark it’s only a graphic signature.
You need to make the export saying on the options that you don’t want metadata on the photo to be exported. If you want to take out the name from a photo when you are working…I think you need to go to library and chose the metadata option on the right bar…there are two types of metadata one is IPTC (where is the creator information) and EXIF (information of the picture and camera) and they can be set on camera or on LR only. If your name apears on facebook, it’s because you have your name recorded on metadata preset in creator identification. You once wrote in your LR and don’t remember it (maybe the first time you instaled the program).
You can:
a) disable removing your data from metadata presets on LR – this will affect all the photos – I don’t advice to do so because your author rights.
b) disable removing the metadata (creator and location etc) only when you export the picture on export menu – this will affect only the photos you select.
See please the first 3 minutes of this video:

WHY does facebook put the creator name on the photos…

Because when uploading a photo to facebook, the machines on the server automatically remove all the EXIF data from the picture and transforms the picture into a small post in order to be processed. There are thousands of photos on the server, so they don’t keep the original you uploaded, but a reduced version of it. In that process they are obligated by law to keep the creator date available when the person gives that information, and that’s the case of pictures processed in LR, when the creator (author) writes his data (name, email, copyright laws etc) on the metadata he is saying that “this picture is copyrighted”, so if someone uses your picture to earn money or without authorization you can go to the law and ask for responsability. Facebook does this automatically because of the signature on the photos (the matadata related with the user). Sometimes, when just for fun, I put my pictures on facebook and I don’t want the picture to be identified as mine, because I don’t care in some particular cases for copyright rights, so I go to Library – Metadata – EXIF and IPTC (scroll down the small arrows at left side of the word Metadata) and go to Contact and Copyright on the bottom and remove my data.
