I would feel very guilty to take the first slice of such a masterpiece.

What was the occasion?
You have both wedding and anniversary as tags.

I was ignorant with respect to fondant.
Your post prompted me to learn of it.

Mandrake… Thanks for that opening line in your comment ;)
Well, this was my first fondant cake which I made for a friend, for her wedding anniversary. I didn’t expect that the cake would eventually look like this, but it did @very first trial.
The fondant is the icing decoration, which I made from the marshmallows. You make a dough out of those marshmallows and roll it out… and then you cover it up the base cake, mine was vanilla-butter sponge cake. Then you decorate it the way you like.
The cake was yummy and I got lot f praises ;)

yum… the cake…
on the first photo… was your intention to vanish the glass plate? so the cake looks like flying?
I know, that shooting good glass’ picture require special technique. I’ve read somewhere, but never tried.
Maybe it would be good time to ask Oksana to do new video. What do you think?

@B.S.E…
No, I didn’t have any such idea as to give the cake a floating look. But I guess, it may look different and visually striking, if the cake stand could be somehow hidden…perhaps through Photoshop. Although I’ve watched couple of videos on YouTube on how to shoot pics of glasses, but haven’t tried it out so far…yeah, we could ask Oksana though…!
