Great shot Mandrake and she is beautiful. Why did you use f11 for a portrait? She has a very uniquely distributed hair so it might be difficult to remove the fellow from the background. Nice imageCool

Yes you are right.  To be honest, I had been taking shots of the kids in a group further away and f/11 was appropriate.
Madison stuck her face in front of the camera and I had no time to change the aperture.  The fellow in the background
is her father and the scene is as I remember it, so, for me it’s an ok shot.

The camera settings may have been a little screwed up but you still

managed to get a nice “in your face” with rosy cheeks and nice smile

image of your granddaughter.

I think it turned out really well. Clear image with good colour saturation.
