The storm NEMO left a white blanket of snow everywhere here on Long Island. Right away I thought of all the shoveling but my grandchildren could not wait to go out and play in the white stuff so camera in hand I followed. So these are a few shots of my little guys. My Grand son is 9 and my grand daughters are 12 and 2. All were shot with a D7000 RAW at f5.6 for the girls and f10 for the boy , ISO 200, WB cloudy. Shutter speeds were 1/125 for my older Grand daughter, 1/400 for my grandson and 1/800 for my younger grand daughter.

Thank you Dale. I appreciate your comments.
Mandrake that was a pretty good guess. I see you know how these things go with the kids but I kept my distance and watched my back. Besides they got their jollies when I fell on my butt by myself. Yes, I sacrificed my body to protect my Nikon!
Congratulation picturethis; first time I see snow well exposed without modify tone skin. Let us know your seting men.
Wonderful pics

Mandrake,
My white balance setting was “cloudy”. I think what really worked for the snow was shooting Raw. It allowed me to bring up the detail in the snow during post processing. I am a Photoshop guy since Pshop 4 many years ago so I am comfortable working with it but Lightroom works pretty much the same. I also shot in manual mode and metered on the blue sky for my exposure.
Thanks everyone.

Really nice natural picture. I like 2 and 3 the most. The first one has some kind of unnatural blur. Did you add it in post?
I like the fact that even it is in the snow, which is associated with cold, pictures give the warm feeling, probably because of the sun and your WB.
I miss winter.
Yes Oksana, I did add the blur but I went too far and it does not a little weird. I redid it and you are right it looks better.
