Some photos I took during the annual Christmas Party. First time in my 45 years of photography that I’m actually paid for a few of them! Very cheap prices though $12 for an 8 x 10. I don’t care though, it’s ok with me. Maybe I’ll increase it if i get more requests at other parties in the future.
I added the background on a couple here with photoshop.
You guys look like tons of fun! Some nice pictures. Very colorful and happy. $12 for 8×10 print, is not too much, but you can always use it as your advertisement. There are several websites which let your clients to do online ordering (which will make your job easier and save you time). I think something like $20 probably would be fair price for 8×10 print from an event. Anybody does events here? Just remember, it is always hard to start low and then go high without changing anything in your service. People just don’t realize how much it takes to take a good photo and time used for post processing sometimes, especially your friends.

Oksana,……the Christmas Annual party is THEE big one each year. We do have others such as the Valentine’s in Feb…but i don’t know if anyone will want photos for those “lesser” events..who knows. Pretty cool though being paid! I spent it already………on Starbucks (haha)
You’ll never know unless you try. I would set up online store, shoot photos and give people your business card with the link to the website with photos. It is up to them to buy it or not. You’ll be taking pictures anyway, right? So why not to try. I posted the question on Facebook if anyone using any online services like that. We will see that they say.

Oksana, I realized I had put the out of camera format 10 x 12 inch. That means I’d have to send them away somewhere since I don’t know any auto places nearby who’d do that (only 8 x 10’s ect). Most of my work by far is all this way. I can’t crop them down to 8 x 10, etc because you know as well as me they would looked terrible. It’s too bad…that is one thing i don’t like about formats. It’s crazy to have to think ahead and compose in a bad way with no artistic merit whatsoever just so you can chop it up later to fit the usual formats that printers do. My printer is cheap….so i can’t do it.
Know any good printer services off hand? I’ve checked out alot but never came to one conclusion on any.
I use whcc.com a lot. So far so good. So they are not the cheapest, so for me quality and good customer service matter more then price.
