Technical Assignment (Shutter Speed):

1. You will be taking multiple pictures of the moving subjects of your choice. It can be either cars on the street or freeway, either bicycles, running people, dancers or trains… It is up to you. What even you can find moving. You can always make your friends/wife/husband/kids run for you back and forth with approximately the same speed. Your subject also has to move across the frame instead of directly toward the camera or away from the camera.
2. You will be standing in one spot. Use tripod, if you have one. If not try to find something to put your camera on or try your best to be as sturdy as you can.
3. Prefocus on the spot where your subject will pass by.
4. Use Shutter Speed priority mode, with which you can control your Shutter Speed and camera will adjust Aperture for you.
5. Start with Shutter Speed of 1/15, increasing it 1 stop each time you take a picture. You will have to shoot with shutter speeds: 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 and so on.. till the point when you get your subject sharp without motion blur.
6. Post your pictures to this forum, by creating a new topic. Don’t post your photo as a reply in the topic somebody else created. You can only comment on their assignment.
7 Also don’t forget to post what camera and lens you used and what were your shutter speed settings.

1. For your creative assignment, please take photos with interesting shadows as a part of the image. Try to choose shadows, what are the subject itself and draw your attention.
2. If you are totally new to photography, it is ok to use auto mode on your camera for this assignment.
3. Postprocessing is ok.
4. Post your images (as many as you wish) to this forum, by creating a new topic. Don’t post your photo as a reply in the topic somebody else created. You can only comment on their assignment.
