I like the picture… I’d probably photoshop the bus stop (or whatever it is) out of the pic as it is distracting…

Like it too and agree with Michael.  I’d also extend the grass to cover the road.
I’d not crop the sign and road as the tree needs it’s space.
And……….. finally, I’d eliminate the bird’s nest in the leftmost tree.

Really love how the more distant trees fade in the mist.

Michael… I’m guessing it’s a phone booth.  Remember those?

I must agree with Mandrake about aditting the photo to make it even better.

Brian, you could post it for edits in the Photo Edit section of the forum, if you like. It could be fun.

It is a Canada Post mail box.

Not sure why everyone thinks it is distracting and needs to be edited out.  I deliberately edited it so that it was still there and stood out.  Like in that scene of The Matrix when Neo is walking with Morpheus in the simulation and everyone looks the same wearing dark clothing, then all of a sudden there is the woman in the red dress.  It stands out, a little bit jarring because it breaks the traditional established narrative.

And that is why I left it in.  We have the mysterious fog, typical of what we see in an old horror movie, or an Eastern European town (Transylvania/Romania), and then you have something bright, clean and completely out of place enroaching on that dark, bleak serenity.

Plus removing it, or removing the road etc, changes what is really there.

My two cents.  (oh sorry this is Canada…my 3.4 Canadian cents)

Everyone has their own vision and this is great! There is no right or wrong in art. I like your reasoning about keeping the mail box.

I personally always want to remove out of place items, or at least what i think is out of place. I would probably be horrible as photo journalist, since making a bit of modification to the photos is my favorite part.

Art is very subjective, that’s for sure.

Brian… Totally understand where you’re coming from, but here it is not immediately clear what the object is.
