Finshing is a sport? Right?

Actually I am trying my new found method of posting a picture here. I will not upload the picture, but instead, use the “link” icon to bring up an already downsized photo of a file which I have on flickr.

If the viewer (that’s you) clicks on the picture, it will bring you to the full resolution file at flickr.
Go ahead… click on the picture and see how it works. To get back here from flickr, click on the back arrow key, not the “close” button.

It works but still the problems I face remain the bugs such as inability to delete promptly and failure to see updates right after they are made on the site despite clicking ‘show new topics since your last visit’. Its so annoying that sometimes, the same link takes me five days earlier even 2 hours after the last update on the site.

Oksana has said on a number of occasions that she is looking into switching to a new server. Hopefully, this will solve these problems.

I really prefer this way of posting, (using the link to flickr) as the much better full resolution file can be shown and also that no resizing is necessary. Of course, it only works if the file has been previously posted to flickr or to another similar site.

Mandrake
Just checked out this pic and it does work
really well to take you to Flickr account.
Do you not ever watermark or copyright your
pics? Some people do while others don’t bother.
Let me know your thoughts on the above.
Thanks – Dale

Dale… I really like this way of posting my photos as the downsizing here degrades the image quality. I like to have my work on flickr anyway, so it’s easy to just copy the HTML address and paste it here. Pasting the link results in a downsized copy of the photo here which, when clicked, brings you to the full resolution file at Flickr. Tres cool. Once at Flickr, the viewer can look at my other photos or return here by clicking on the back arrow.

I’ve watermarked a few of my photos, but generally don’t bother with it. I did on the Rose of Sharon photo that I posted earlier. Many that I’ve seen detract from the photo. Yours do not, but some are just too big. If anyone wishes to use what I’ve posted for non-commercial purposes, I don’t mind.

nikonguy
Do you not ever watermark or copyright , nikonguy eventhoug my works are not proffesional, is important watermark it, I believe everyone aspiring to be proffesional shall do there are many magazines that need pictures and not all proffesional, magazines make million, and decorate its magazines with then, so the day you see any of your in it you can claim your price. There are a lot of photographer fighting for copyrights, they are also our collegues so give a hand to them, is given a hand to u also.
Alway had in mind that there is not bad picture, if not bad viewer , if not ask to a freelance.
Always watermark ur pics.
