Amen on that, LOL. I guess I did misread many for all. Sorry about that and thanks for your input!

Conclusion – It all depends on the situation and personal preference.

We all are here to learn and voice our opinions. I wish some other people would join in and let us know what their favorite portrait lenses are.

I just bought my AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D (2nd hand) worth USD 67.00… I bought it because of the price.. I try it and i dont see any problem (as of now)..

Im wondering if will still buy 35mm 1.8/1.4 (very expensive)..

haha… thanks for the comments and suggestion..

P.S.

Another reason why I buy the 50mm 1.8D, because most of the contest here is photowalk contest using 50mm lens..

Thank you.

Best regards,

Congratulation on your new lens. If I were you, I would just play with 50mm first, before buying 35mm. See if you find yourself in the situation that you can’t fit everything you want in the frame, because there is no room to step back. But 35mm f1.8 is pretty cheep too, so if you see a good deal why not.

I would not spend all this money on 35mm f1.4. There are other more useful lenses in this price range, so 35mm f1.4 would not be my first choice.
