I have a Nikon D70. it was working fine and then all of a sudden it stopped clicking. when I change the settings sometimes it lets me click but it does not focus. Does this mean my camera is broken? I have also tried to reset it factory settings no luck. I been here sitting for an hour trying to figure it out. I see that it doesnt give me the option of autofocus (AF-S) or AF- area mode. and the little square inside the focus lense is in the center it doesnt move. I have put it on auto and it doesnt let me click i change it to manual and it does but doesnt let me focus. HELP someone.

Do you get any errors on the screen?
Also sometimes it can be a memory card. Try to reformat it or use a different one.
You can also try to take batteries out for 10 min or so and then put them back. See if that helps.

I don’t know that camera very well, but I believe it have a motor on the body for focusing. The camera could be ok, only the motor could need a fix. Did you try to contact Nikon already? The lens you use have a motor also for stabilization? Do you try to use other lens on that body?
