Very much like the ‘after’ shot better as the boy is much more visible, and you can see his expression and facial details more.

Great editing!, the brightness has been increased without compromising the quality of the photo. The background looks amazing now and the definition of the whole photo got increased. Normally creating this sort of edits makes the photo a little bit noisy but there seem to have no noise at all. Can you please tell us which editor did you use and what are your presets?.
