Good comments guys! I guess to make the test absolutely foolproof I should take the
pic with the same settings as I did with the d7000 and try to find the exact location.
I will probably leave it as it is and realize that both cameras produce great images and
the 24mp without the anti-aliasing filter MAY produce slightly sharper images but the old
d7000 held it's own pretty well.

The long exposures would make the water ripples a bit blurry even with a calm harbor.
I'm liking the sharpness of the buildings with the 7100. Could possibly be due to the lack of the aa filter.
That would be something!
The 7100 photo also appears brighter which in this case is good.
It's nice that you found the old photo for the comparison.

Very cool Dale... I think the ripples in the water look clearer with the 7100... would be interesting for you to take it with the same 30 second exposure as I'm sure that accounts for the difference in the lighting.

I took a few pics EARLY this morning (it was still damned dark!) and when I got home to
check them out on my computer I found that I had taken a very similar shot with my d7000
a while back. IDEA - Post both images for you guys to scrutinize and see how close the two
cameras perform. Info on shot. Both cameras were set to AutoW.B. ISO - 100 Adobe Standard
with both shots taken using the 18-55m set @ 35mm. The d7000 was set @ 30 second exposure
with aperture set @ f11 Camera chose Temp of 3750 with Tint +17. The d7100 was set @ 25 second
exposure with aperture set @ f14 Camera chose Temp of 3100 with Tint +9. Here are the results
with absolutely NO post processing. Right out of camera @ RAW setting. The position of each shot is
a little different but they were taken in roughly the same location. You will notice that the d7100 looks closer
so I have to assume that I was standing while taking that shot. I am going to try and take the same shot
with my old Canon xsi using the same guidelines to compare. It's a 12mp sensor so should be interesting.
