You have to set your camera white balance setting to "Christmas tree Lights"  (It may be "CTL" on some cameras.)

By "true" HDR, I'm assuming you actually took more than one shot at different apertures with the camera on a pod.
On this one the WB looks way off, but I doubt that's an HDR problem. Maybe you could fix in post.
